Brigadier General Blake C. Ortner (US Army) visit to the Baltic Defence College

On 10 JUNE 2016 the Commander of 29th Infantry Division, Brigadier General Blake C. Ortner (US Army) visited the Baltic Defence College.

This visit was part of the ongoing Exercise “Saber Strike”, where BG Ortner is the co-exercise director. During the meeting with BALTDEFCOL Commandant, Major General Vitalijus Vaikšnoras, the subjects taught to BALTDEFCOL students were discussed and common interests were outlined. USA and Baltic Defence College have been in close co-operation from the establishment of the BALTDEFCOL and it is our wish to continue with this fruitful cooperation in the future.

The 29th Infantry Division also known as the "Blue and Gray", is an infantry division of the United States Army based in Fort Belvoir, Virginia.

It is a formation of the United States Army National Guard and contains units from Maryland (state partner to Estonia), Virginia, Florida and North Carolina.
