Visit by XIX Joint Staff Course of Spanish Joint Staff College

On 20th of June, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) hosted a visit by XIX Joint Staff Course of Spanish Joint Staff College led by Brigadier general Luis Meléndez, Director of Diplomacy, Cultural and Defence Department. The delegation was welcomed by BALTDEFCOL’s Deputy Commandant / Chief of Staff Colonel Jean Trudel.

The aim of the visit was for the Spanish Joint Staff College to understand our academic institution, our curriculum and areas of research. During the panel discussion that followed with the students of Joint Command and General Staff Course 2017/2018 Major Martins Bucs (LVA A), MAJ Pavelas Jelkinas (LTU A) and CPT Teet Laeks (EST A), the visiting students engaged with ours and discussed the security challenges facing the region from the perspective of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
