Celebration of Lithuanian Armed Forces Day

On 23rd of November 2018, a reception on the occasion of the Lithuanian Armed Forces Day was held at the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL). The staff and students were invited to join the Lithuanian officers and civilians in celebrating this important date. This year, the day is especially significant as Lithuania celebrates the 100th Anniversary of the Armed Forces.

In his speech COL Albertas Dapkus, the Senior National Representative of Lithuania talked about the past and present of the Lithuanian Armed Forces. He also highlighted that the Baltic Defence College has been an integral part of Lithuanian military education system developing senior officers and civilians.

The celebration of Armed Forces Day is a very important event in Lithuania. Various activities are organised in the capital, Vilnius and across the country. The celebration is marked by military parades, military equipment fairs and expositions, concerts, awarding ceremonies etc. dedicated to the soldiers protecting the unity and sovereignty of Lithuania.
