Department of Military Studies

About

The Department of Military Studies is the largest department in the Baltic Defence College, made up primarily of military officers (active and retired) with subject-matter expertise.

The department has approximately eighteen faculty members, who have subject-matter expertise in military strategy, military art, joint operations, special operations, land power, air power and maritime power, as well as military history.

In particular, the department is responsible for teaching Combined Joint Operations and associated electives on the Joint Command and General Staff Course and Civil Servants Course. Moreover, DMS takes responsibility for overseeing the college's military exercises programme and the international study tour.
