Commanding General of the U.S. Army Europe paid a visit to BALTDEFCOL

On 5th October the Commanding General of the U.S. Army Europe, Lieutenant General Frederick Benjamin (Ben) Hodges and his staff members, paid the third visit to the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL). The high-level guest and his delegation were welcomed by the Commandant, Major General Andis Dilans and the members of College Management Group followed by an office call.

During the visit, LtGen Hodges presented an exceptional lecture to the faculty, students of the Joint Command and General Staff Course 2017/2018 and Civil Servants’ Course 2017 and guests from the Estonian National Defence College. The lecture highlighted the importance of interoperability, freedom of movement and sustainment being keywords in the current security environment in Europe supporting deterrence posture.

Visit ended with aceremony, during which LtGen Hodges was awarded with the Baltic Defence College Medal of Merit GOLD for his outstanding contribution to the College.
