Visit of the Canadian Ambassador and Canadian Forces College's National Security Programme

The Baltic Defence College had an honour to host a visit by H.E. Mr. Alain Hausser, the Ambassador to the Baltic States and a delegation from the Canadian Forces College's National Security Programme.

The Commandant of the Baltic Defence College said in his welcoming speech that we are happy to welcome our guests here at the College, and that in many ways the two institutions are very similar - we both prepare future leaders for their new challenges. Canada, among other nations, has provided the College with valuable support, and has become a highly appreciated partner in many aspects. It is BALTDEFCOL’s desire to continue the cooperation and seek for opportunities of mutual benefit to develop the partnership even further.

During the visit a comprehensive overview of BALTDEFCOL’s history, vision and mission was delivered by the Commandant, Major General Vitalijus Vaikšnoras. The briefing was followed by a presentation and discussions on domestic and regional security issues as well as key security developments within the region led by the Dean of the College, with a panel of faculty members.
