Meeting of MG Dilans with General Mirko Šundov

The Commandant of the Baltic Defence College Major General Andis Dilāns met with General Mirko Šundov, Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Croatia. During the working visit on 25 October 2016 both military leaders discussed the security environment in Balkans and Baltic States and current developments within those regions. Moreover, the outcome of the Warsaw Summit 2016 was under consideration and its influence on stabilization of security situation in Europe.

The cooperation between Baltic Defence College and Croatian Armed Forces was also covered including bilateral exchanges in relation to professional military education. Major General Dilāns and General Šundov expressed their willingness and readiness to further develop bilateral relations by continuing cooperation, exchange of subject matter experts and conducting common educational and research projects.

Major General Dilāns was accompanied by Dean Dr Zdzislaw Sliwa and the Head of Commandant’s Office Major Liene Rozenberga. The visit was associated with the BALTDEFCOL delegation participation in the Central European Forum on Military Education (CEFME) Conference hosted by the Croatian Military Academy Dr. Franjo Tudjman in Zagreb.
