The Annual Nordic-Baltic Conference of Commandants 2017 was held in Allinge on Bornholm on 11- 12 October and it was organized by the Danish Royal Defence College (RDDC).
The conference was chaired by the Commandant of RDDC Rear Admiral Nils Wang. In the conference participated the Finnish National Defence University led by the Commandant Major General Ilkka Korkiamäki, the Norwegian Defence University College represented by Colonel Atle Stai and the Swedish Defence University represented by Colonel Ingemar Gustafsson. The BALTDEFCOL delegation was headed by the Commandant MG Andis Dilans, who was accompanied by the College Dean Dr. Zdzislaw Sliwa.
The Conference is an annual forum to share experiences related to developments within Professional Military Education domain and to enhance bilateral and multilateral cooperation among academic institutions. It was also an opportunity to discuss regional security and latest developments in armed forces and educational requirements to support their future needs.
During the conference, the Technical Agreement for cooperation among NORDEFCO Professional Military Education and BALTDEFCOL was signed. The next Nordic - Baltic Conference of Commandants 2018 will be hosted by BALTDEFCOL.
