Visit by Mr Sven Sakkov, Director of International Centre for Defence and Security

Mr Sven Sakkov, Director of International Centre for Defence and Security (ICDS) visited the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) on 9th of May 2019. The aim of the visit was to enhance existing cooperation and share newest developments and practises in the fields of Defence and Security.

The visit started with an office call with Major General Andis Dilāns, Commandant of BALTDEFCOL. It was followed by a presentation on BALTDEFCOL focusing on the latest milestones and upcoming educational activities. During the discussions, possible opportunities of mutual support were examined based on already completed or ongoing projects. This includes mutual research projects, contribution to publications, participation in a variety of seminars and conferences and ICDS’s support to BALTDEFCOL’s courses.

The leaders of both organisations agreed that there are common areas of cooperation to be further developed as these are rising from the missions of ICDS and BALTDEFCOL.
