INTERMEDIATE STRATEGIC COMMUNICATION COURSE

Description

The course consists of Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) or an online course, lectures, seminars and group work and involves students’ individual work and preparation. Lectures will be delivered by specialists from the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence, the Baltic states, the NATO Force Structure and the NATO Command Structure.

Objective

To equip planners with the knowledge and skills to seamlessly integrate Strategic Communications (STRATCOM) into their planning processes across all levels of their respective headquarters.

Course Structure

The course comprises a combination of Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) or an online course, lectures, seminars, group work, and individual study and preparation. Experts will deliver lectures from the NATO Strategic Communications Centre of Excellence, the Baltic states, the NATO Force Structure, and the NATO Command Structure.

Course Format

The course is structured for on-site engagement and will be conducted at the Baltic Defence College.

• Information Environment: Understanding the nuances of the information environment and its impact on STRATCOM effectiveness.
• Challenges and Opportunities for Military Leaders: Recognizing the inherent challenges and opportunities presented by the information environment for military leaders.

Learning Outcomes

• By the end of the course, participants will be able to:
• Comprehend the core principles of NATO Strategic Communications.
• Understand the relationship between NATO STRATCOM policy and Political-Military Direction and Guidance.
• Analyze the role of the information environment in STRATCOM operations.
• Identify and assess the role, function, utility, and limitations of STRATCOM-related functions and capabilities.
• Integrate STRATCOM considerations into the processes and products of their respective branch/department.
