Baltic Defence College faculty members took part in the exercise Steadfast Jupiter 2021

From 19 to 28 October, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) Faculty members took part in the Operational level Command-post exercise STEADFAST JUPITER 2021 (STJU21), which was conducted in the Allied Joint Force Command Brunssum (JFCBS). The exercise was led by NATO Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) and it was NATO’s largest and most challenging Computer-Assisted Command Post Exercise this year. Around 5000 participants from 26 NATO and two partner countries (Finland and Sweden) are involved in 18 different training audiences.

The Joint Warfare Center (JWC) in Stavanger in Norway directed the exercise to train and evaluate the NATO Response Force 22, Multinational Corps Northeast, and the Theatre Component Commands.

The exercise provided BALTDEFCOL officers an opportunity to train in multinational operational level staff in their area of expertise and develop deeper knowledge and understanding. This knowledge will contribute to the teaching process at the BALTDEFCOL and provide enhanced insight from theory to practice. The networking opportunities with subject matter experts from all NATO and partner nations should also not be underestimated. The experiences and up-to-date knowledge obtained by the Faculty from JFCBS and other NATO and non-NATO entities will contribute to the BALTDEFCOL education.
