Thank you for considering attending the Baltic Defence College’s Intermediate Strategic Communication Course (STC-ST-35529)! The course dates are from 20 to 24 March, 2023, at the Baltic Defence College, Tartu, Estonia. There is also an option to attend virtually via Microsoft Teams (see details below).

We are excited to offer you this challenging and rewarding course. We are also excited for you to become part of the team amongst our Higher Command Studies Course, Civil Servants' Course and Joint Command and General Staff Course students. We hope this course enhances your professional skills and provides you with excellent knowledge, insights and experiences to take back to your command.

There are limited seats available and applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. Please register for the course by 01 March 2024. Do not forget to indicate your preference for residential attendance in Tartu or virtual attendance.

Residential Course: For applicants that would like to participate in person at the Baltic Defence College, some additional information regarding accommodation and transportation (at your own organisation’s expense). You should plan on arriving in Tartu by Sunday, 19 March to support the course start Monday morning. We have blocked some rooms at the Dorpat hotel (51 €/one night, single; 58 €/one night, twin/double; price includes VAT, buffet breakfast, and parking). Virtual Course: If you would like to participate online-only via Microsoft Teams, you will be required to dedicate significant time to the course to obtain a certificate of completion: from 08:30 to 17:00 Monday through Thursday; and 08:30 to 12:00 Friday (in accordance with the course schedule).  

For successful applicants confirmed to the course, in order to make your participation as painless as possible for you, we would like to provide you with some information in advance.   • You will be sent login instructions for our learning management system, ILIAS. Please make sure you log into your Baltic Defence College ILIAS account and verify that it is working. If you do not receive information regarding your ILIAS account, or if the login does not work, please let me know. You will be able to find course information by clicking the Resources tab in the upper right corner of the ILIAS main page two weeks before the course starts. 
  • You will also be sent login instructions for our Microsoft Teams virtual environment.
  • Please try to complete NATO’s online introduction course prior to the start of the course Intro to STRATCOM Course. Here’s the link to create a NATO eLearning (JADL) account (https://jadl.act.nato.int/).
