On 12th September, a delegation of the French Institute for Higher National Defence Studies (IHEDN) paid a visit to the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL).

The guests were welcomed by the Dean, COL (ret) Dr hab. Zdzislaw Sliwa and Lecturer on Defence and Cyber Studies, AMB Shota Gvineria. BALTDEFCOL delegation was accompanied by COL Mart Vendla, the Deputy Chief of Staff of the Estonian Defence Forces.

The visitors were very interested in regional security and the French involvement in the contribution to deterrence. They recognised and appreciated the value of the education provided by the College and the specific character of the BALTDEFCOL as a Professional Military Education institution.

The visit was concluded with an overview of the Estonian Defence Forces by COL Vendla. He provided a broader outline of the regional deterrence and resilience to face the threats, including the contribution of the French armed forces within many bilateral initiatives between Estonia and France.
