BG Abols participated in Harvard Black Sea Security Program

BALTDEFCOL Commandant BG Gundars Abols participated in the Harvard Black Sea Security Program, organized by the Baltic to Black Sea Alliance in cooperation with Latvian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Latvian Ministry of Defence.

Leading policy makers gathered on 18-21 March in Riga to the Harvard Black Sea Security Program to gain a deeper understanding of issues affecting the region and encourage problem solving in areas of common interest.

Among other speakers BG Abols addressed the audience of the Program on “Baltic Defence College: directions of activity and cooperation with the Black Sea region”. In the presentation he gave an overview of BALTDEFCOL’s close cooperation with the Black Sea region countries, mostly concentrating on the students and faculty members from the Black Sea region who have studied and served in the College.

The Program promotes a regional approach to addressing security issues in a world that is in constant change and its goal is to bring together senior military representatives and civilian security specialists to build a regional security system based on cooperation and integration.
