Roundtable Seminar: 'Sweden and the "Wider Baltic"'

On 8th April 2013, the Baltic Defence College hosted a further roundtable seminar on Sweden’s perspective on the ‘Wider Baltic’. The speaker was Ambassador Michael Sahlin, former Swedish Ambassador to Norway, Turkey and Azerbaijan.

Several students from both the Joint Command and General Staff Course and Civil Servants’ Course participated in the seminar to ask questions for their research papers. They were joined by several members of academic and military staff. The event was very insightful: participants engaged with the Ambassador for well over one and half hours to invoke his insights on Sweden’s interests in the Wider Baltic. To enhance the college’s research culture and to allow students and staff to gain additional insights from North European foreign and defence ministry officials, further roundtable seminars are planned in the future.
