Visit by the Italian Joint Service Staff Institute

Within the spirit of the co-operation between the Baltic Defence College and the Italian Joint Service Staff Institute (ISSMI) the first visit of ISSMI staff and students to the Baltic Defence College took place between 13and 18 March 2004. The ISSMI delegation consisted of 11 students, 3 members of the directing staff and 2 warrant officers. The delegation was headed by the Director of the ISSMI, Admiral Sergio Magarelli and his Deputy Director, Brigadier General Umberto Rossi.

During their stay at the Baltic Defence College, the ISSMI students participated in the first phase of Exercise Combined Effort. The participation of ISSMI students on the exercise provided an excellent opportunity for both sides to share their professional experience.

During a bilateral meeting between the ISSMI and the Baltic Defence College it was agreed to continue the co-operation in future.
