Visit by officers of Turkish War College

On 21 May a group of 41 students and faculty members of the Turkish War College (TWC) visited the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL).

The delegation of the TWC was first welcomed by the BALTDEFCOL Commandant Major General Vitalijus Vaikšnoras. The programme at the College continued with thorough briefings presented by the Director of the Joint Command and General Staff Course and Head of Commandant´s Office Major Vilius Zagurskis.

The guests were introduced to the regional importance of the BALTDEFCOL and its relevance from the perspective of international defence education. Presentations were followed by active discussion on the academic part of the curricula of the BALTDEFCOL courses. In addition to the main briefers, representatives of Department of Operations COL Marek Stobnicki, Department of Political and Strategic Studies Dr Asta Maskaliūnaitė and Department of Leadership Mr Michael Malm were very actively involved in the discussion round.

The 1st visit of the TWA to the BALTDEFCOL concluded with a tour of the College and a visit to the Museum of Estonian National Defence College.
