Visit by the Policy Director of the Estonian Ministry of Defence

On Monday, February 2nd Mr Sven Sakkov, the Policy Director of the Estonian Ministry of Defence, accompanied by Mrs Aari Lemmik, Director of the International Co-operation Department of the Estonian Ministry of Defence visited the Baltic Defence College.

Mr Sakkov had a meeting with BALTDEFCOL Commandant MG Vitalijus Vaikšnoras and Deputy Commandant COL Axel Pfaffenroth.

Later Mr Sakkov participated in roundtable seminar with the HCSC students to discuss the essence of NATO´s role and the necessity of collective defence. Mr Sakkov discussed the security situation in the Baltics from an Estonian perspective, the Baltics’ security and defence area development, the planning and execution of NATO responses in order to counter strategic threats in the contemporary security environment and the Wales Summit.
