Preparations for CSELC 2021

This week BALTDEFCOL hosts the Planning Workshop in preparations for the third edition of the Command Senior Enlisted Leaders' Course (CSELC). In 2021, the College is testing a new format of manning CSELC involving the top-level experts selected from the course alumni representing Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania - the BALTDEFCOL Framework Nations.

The Electives’ Week completed

The primary focus of students’ education is on developing the necessary skills and knowledge to excel in an unknown future where the only constant changes. Electives are the key means of achieving this, which makes them an essential part of the professional education within the Higher Command Studies Course (HCSC), Joint Command and General Staff Course (JCGSC) and Civil Servants Course (CSC).

HCSC Virtual International Study Trip

From 8th to 12th of March 2021, the Higher Command Studies Course (HCSC) conducted the International Study Trip (IST) to explore NATO and the European Union (EU) security policies and their impact on the Baltic region. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year, the IST was conducted virtually, opening opportunities to visit more organizations, meet a broader range of high-level speakers and ‘travel’ across Europe and to reach the shores of the US.

Visit of the Estonian Minister of Defence, Mr Kalle Laanet

Today, on 9th March the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) had the honour to host Minister of Defence of Estonia Mr Kalle Laanet while the Minister was on his working visit to South-Estonia. He was accompanied by the Deputy Commander of Estonian Defence Forces Major General Indrek Sirel.

Seventh Annual Conference on Russia successfully conducted

This week ended up with the Seventh Annual Conference on Russia titled 'Responding to Russia in a Multi-Threat World', which took place on 4th-5th March. The conference was conducted online, although some panelists were present in Tartu as well. The conference brought together the best experts from the Baltic Sea region, Russia, Europe, and the United States, and over 700 participants from all over the world.
