1st BALTDECOL Academic Advisory Board meeting held
On 1 NOV 2011 was held the 1st BALTDEFCOL Academic Advisory Board meeting in the history of the College.
Academic Advisory Board consisted of senior officers MG Romuald Ratajczak, LTG (ret) Zoltan Szenes and LTG (ret) John Kizely, senior civilians Dr Mark Conversino, Dr Matt Uttley and LTG Sir John Kiszely, and representative of the Latvian Training Command BG (ret) Karlis Kreslins.
Main emphasis of the held Academic Advisory Board meeting was on the development of the course programmes of the JCGSC and the HCSC as well as on the assessment systems of both courses. The Board gave advice and will do it also in the future to the BALTDEFCOL Commandant and the Baltic Coordination Group (BCG) on the academic programme of the College and long term academic development of the College.
Academic Advisory Board consists of nine members, from different nations and chosen for their background in military higher education. The board will be made up of three active or retired flag officers of 2-3 star rank from NATO nations who have extensive experience in higher military education; three senior civilian academics who have extensive experience as academic leaders in military education institutions; and three officers or civilian officials, one each from the Military Training Command of each Baltic State armed forces.
Academic Advisory Board will meet at least once per year to review the BALTDEFCOL academic programme and provide comment and make and recommendations for improvements and future developments in the academic programme to the Commandant and the BCG.
