2017 Baltic Military History Conference: ‘From Narva to NATO: 100 years of Russia versus the West, 1917-2017’ takes place on 24th March

Baltic Defence College’s Military History Conference will take place on 24 March 2017. The 2017 edition of our annual conference coincides with the anniversary of the Russian Revolution, and therefore, it will focus on how the Western Powers’ past experiences in dealing with the Russian challenge can offer a guideline to develop a viable defence policy for the wider Baltic region.

We are delighted to announce that Lieutenant General (ret.) Raimonds Graube, the former Commander of the Latvian Armed Forces, and Professor Kaarel Piirimäe, from the Estonian War Museum, are participating as the keynote speakers.

Among the other speakers are academics and armed forces professionals from 12 different countries, including Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Finland, Denmark, Ukraine, Netherlands, the United Kingdom, Israel, Japan, Canada, and the United States.
