The 9th Baltic Military History Conference 2018 will take place on 13th and 14th of September at the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL). The theme of this year's Conference is "1918-2018 Hundred years of armed forces development". It will address the development and fate of the armed forces of a number of Eastern European and Caucasian countries in 100 years after gaining independence trying to grasp the lessons learned through reflection on the processes within and related to armed forces. Special attention will be given to the role of military education in the developmental process of the armed forces. The latter topic will serve as a conduit for the 2019 conference that will look back on BALTDEFCOL's own 20th anniversary.

We are delighted to announce that Brigadier General (ret) Michael H. Clemmesen, First Commandant of the Baltic Defence College and General Sir James R. Everard, Deputy Supreme Allied Commander Europe (DSACEUR) will be the keynote speakers of BALTDEFCOL's Annual Baltic Military History Conference 2018.
