BALTDEFCOL Commandant and Dean visited Pentagon and US National Defense University
On Tuesday, March 2 the BALTDEFCOL Commandant BrigGen Gundars Abols, and Dean Dr. James Corum visited the Pentagon for a meeting with US Deputy Undersecretary for Readiness Dr. Samuel Kleinman. BALTDEFCOL delegation discussed various means by which the US can support the BALTDEFCOL efforts over the long term the the Deputy Undersecretary and his staff. The US Defense Department is plans to continue its strong support for the BALTDEFCOL programs and to continue to coordinate training efforts.
From the Pentagon the Commandant and Dean visited the US National Defence University (NDU) at Fort McNair in Washington. The BALTDEFCOL leaders were received by the President of NDU, Vice Admiral Ann E. Rondeau, who expressed her commitment for maintaining and increasing the cooperation between NDU and the BALTDEFCOL. The BALTDEFCOL leaders met with NDU faculty and Library staff to discuss cooperation on academic courses, advanced distance learning, research projects and library resource sharing.
As at the Pentagon, NDU gave the BALTDEFCOL assurances of continued support for its courses and research program.
