BALTDEFCOL Commandant visited Polish military educational institutions

 

The Commandant of the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) MG Vitalijus Vaikšnoras paid an official visit to the Polish National Defence Univeristy (Polish NDU) on 26 February.

 

The BALTDEFCOL delegation consisting of the Commandant MG Vaikšnoras and Head of Commandant´s Office LTC Aare Tuvike was welcomed by the Rector-Commandant of the Polish NDU MG Bogusław Pacek, Assoc. Prof. The main topics under discussion were teaching at the Polish NDU and details of further cooperation between the two military educational institutions. Later, the guests also visited the CBRN Defence Training Centre, the Officers Training Centre, and the War Games and Simulation Centre.

The visit by the BALTDEFCOL delegation to the Polish NDU was part of an ongoing plan of the BALTDEFCOL to deepen and formalize its relationships with partner military institutions in NATO and the region. BALTDEFCOL looks forward to closer cooperation with the Polish NDU- the largest institution of its kind in this region.

Major General Vaikšnoras also visited Polish Air Force Academy (PAFA) in Deblin. PAFA – traditionally known as the „School of Eaglets“ – is the only academic-level institution educating and training Air Force personnel. The primary mission of the Academy is to educate officers in the field of aviation and airspace at Bachelo’s and Master’s degree level. The school is currently educating pilots, navigators and ground for the military and provides also education to civilian students.

Maj Gen Vaikšnoras was familirized with PAFA structure, educational process, and training facilities such as flight and maintenance simulation systems etc. The visit was complited with the tour in the famous Deblin Air Force Museum.
