BALTDEFCOL delegation visited Croatia

The Commandant of the Baltic Defence College, Major General Vitalijus Vaikšnoras, together with the Director of Joint Command and General Staff Course, Colonel Mark Hollis and his Military Assistant, MAJ Vilius Zagurskis, paid a return visit to the Croatian Defence Academy (CDA) in Zagreb from 27th-29th October 2015. The Croatian delegation was led by Lieutenant General Slavko Barić, Ph.D., the Commandant of the Academy, who visited the Baltic Defence College during 20th-22nd May 2015.

The busy schedule of the visit included a comprehensive programme of briefing about CDA and bilateral discussions on various topics. The leadership of CDA was interested in the Baltic Defence College’s experience in establishing itself as a unique multinational cooperation project. The Baltic Defence College, on the other hand, is interested in CDA’s know-how on long-term planning arrangements, quality assurance, and so forth. Both sides expressed the importance of sharing expertise by attending each other’s institutions; exchanging faculty; and participating in conferences and seminars to support a common goal.

An intensive cooperation between the Baltic Defence College and CDA is of mutual interest to both organisations. The reciprocal visits are a visible indication of the successful cooperation. The Baltic Defence College appreciates the support and warm welcome given by the Croatian side during the visit.
