On 28 June the Dean Dr. Zdzislaw Sliwa participated in an academic symposium organized by the Faculty of Military Studies of the Poland’s War Studies University (WSU) in Warsaw. The symposium titled “Hybrid Threats Scenarios and Options to Face Them as an Integral Part of Security of the Republic of Poland” is part of Poland’s Ministry of Defence research project and was composed of two discussion panels.
Next to Dr. Sliwa in the symposium participated: Professor Andrzej Zybertowicz, the Adviser to the President of Poland; LTG Andrij Kucherenko, the First Secretary of the Ukrainian Embassy in Poland, BG Piotr Błazeusz, the Head of the Polish Armed Forces Development Planning and Programming Directorate P-5, Professor Jerzy Surma and Dr Wojciech Szewko. The discussion was moderated by Mr. Krzysztof Wilewski, redactor of ‘Polska Zbrojna’ (‘Armed Poland’), the MoD weekly magazine.
Each expert provided insights related to the topic and it was followed by questions from the audience, which was composed of the WSU’s faculty and military and civilian students. The military students represented courses for high level command and staff positions in the Poland’s Armed Forces. The Symposium was concluded by Col Professor Marek Wrzosek, the WSU’s Vice-Rector for Science and Col Professor Krzysztof Krakowski, the Dean of the Faculty of Military Studies.
