Baltic Coordination Group Meeting in Riga

On 23th of March, the Baltic Coordination Group (BCG) Meeting was held in the premises of the Ministry of Defence of Latvia in Riga.

BCG Meeting brought together representatives from the three Baltic states’ Ministries of Defence and Defence Forces, members of the Baltic Defence College’s (BALTDEFCOL) Management Group as well as Senior National Representatives (SNRs) of the participating countries.

Chaired by the Director of the Defence Policy Department of the Latvian MoD, members of the BCG discussed topical issues of coordination. The agenda of the comprehensive one-day meeting included updates and extensive discussions on BALTDEFCOL’s educational activities and administartive issues. One of the focal topics was the BALTDEFCOL´s Annual Activity Plan 2019 including Budget requests.

The participating SNRs had the opportunity to update the BCG members on the future contribution of their respective countries to the BALTDEFCOL.

The BCG is a body referring to the Baltic Ministerial Committee and the Baltic Military Committee in relation to all questions linked to management and development of BALTDEFCOL. Its primary role is to review, evaluate and support BALTDEFCOL activities, use of resources and student administration.
