On 11th May, the Commandant of the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL), Brigadier General Ilmar Tamm, and the Commandant of the National Defence University of Ukraine (NDUU) Colonel-General Mykhailo Volodymyrovych Koval, signed the Memorandum of Understanding.
The main aim of the agreement is to support educational activities and exchange subject matter experts between two PME institutions. Both institutions will inform each other about their research programs and studies, allowing them to participate in courses, electives, and other academic events.
Both Commandants highlighted the importance of the agreement by emphasising the good existing cooperation and the intent to strengthen it further.
The cooperation between the BALTDEFCOL and NDUU is an ongoing project. The focus has been on exchanges of experiences related to education on operational and strategic levels and enhancing capabilities concerning operational planning following NATO standards. It includes the participation of the NDUU faculty in the ongoing Combined Joint Staff Exercise Joint Resolve 2023.
Such close cooperation will be continued in the future as of great benefit to both PME organisations, and such desire was highlighted by both commandants.
