Baltic Defence College Assumes Leadership of the International Society for Military Sciences
Last week in Stockholm (10-11 November) the International Society for Military Sciences hosted its second annual conference. The conference featured seventy papers on military and security themes and was hosted by the Swedish National Defence Academy (Forsvarshogskollen). More than 100 military academics from more than a dozen nations participated in the very successful international meeting.
The International Society for Military Sciences is an organization composed of eight Western national defence academies/staff colleges: the Royal Military College of Canada, The National Defence Academies of Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Norway, Netherlands, Austria and the Baltic Defence College. The society is oriented on enabling academic research cooperation among the faculties of these institutions of higher military education.
Every year the presidency and leadership of the ISMS passes to the institution that will host the next conference. The next ISMS annual conference will be held in Tartu Estonia and will be hosted by the Baltic Defence College.
