Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) 25th Anniversary Celebration

February 27 was an eventful day at the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL). It marked the BALTDEFCOL's 25th anniversary, and the BALTDEFCOL family and alumni were gathered in a joint celebration.

25th anniversary is a significant milestone for the Baltic Defence College, and celebrating it involves various events and activities to commemorate its achievements.

During the day, former students of BALTDEFCOL attended the "BALTDEFCOL Alumni Programme". The BALTDEFCOL Commandant, Brigadier General Alvydas Šiuparis, welcomed and briefed former students of the college.

Alumni also participated in the lecture "Security Environment and Resilience Challenge" by LTC Karl Salum, Mr George Spencer Terry and Ambassador Gvineria Shota.

Gathering alumni provides an opportunity to reflect on the BALTDEFCOL's impact and the careers of those who have passed through its doors. It is a great networking opportunity for former students to reconnect with old friends and colleagues.

Later, the official part of the BALTDEFCOL's 25th Anniversary was opened by the speech of the BALTDEFCOL Commandant, Brigadier General Alvydas Šiuparis.

The Commandant congratulated the whole BALTDEFCOL family and, during his speech, highlighted a quarter of a century-long journey the BALTDEFCOL has accomplished since 1999. He also emphasized the importance of the BALTDEFCOL in the Baltic region and thanked the students, staff and alumni for being part of this journey.

It is a valuable source of information for current and future students, faculty, policymakers, and anyone interested in the college's role in shaping defence education and security cooperation in the Baltic states. Additionally, the publication of this book will further underscore the significance of BALTDEFCOL's 25th anniversary as a time for reflection, recognition, and celebration of its accomplishments.
