On 20th of June 2019, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) will hold a Flag Inauguration and Joint Graduation Ceremony at the Vanemuine Theatre. The day will serve as a culmination point of the 20th Anniversary programme.
During the Flag Inauguration Ceremony, the City of Tartu will donate a new flag to the BALTDEFCOL, dedicated to the 20th Anniversary of the College. The flag symbolises the successful cooperation of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania in providing professional military education to military and civilian leaders of the Baltic states, NATO Allied and Partner countries. It also marks the long-term partnership between BALTDEFCOL and City of Tartu.
The programme will then continue with the Joint Graduation of Higher Command Studies Course 2019, Joint Command and General Staff Course 2018-2019 and Civil Servants’ Course 2019. This is the first time when all three courses are graduating together. This year, altogether 92 students from 17 countries will receive their diplomas. It is the result of their hard work and dedication throughout their respective courses.
Both events will be honoured by the attendance of Presidents of Estonia and Latvia, Speaker of the Seimas of Lithuania and several distinguished visitors, including Ministers of (National) Defence of Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, ambassadors and defence attachés of the countries represented at the College, Mayor of the City of Tartu.
The programme will conclude with the official raising of the new flag at BALTDEFCOL esplanade.
