Baltic Defence College participated in the Estonian Independence Day celebrations

On 24th of February, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) participated in the Estonia’s 100th anniversary celebrations. The day was full of festive activities.

BALTDEFCOL was represented at the parade of the Estonian Defence Forces on Tallinn’s Freedom Square. Our flag party consisted of Col Albertas Dapkus (LTU), CDR Artis Tirzmalis (LVA), Lt. Col Toomas Boltowsky (EST) and Lt. Col Vilmantas Norvaišas (LTU). The parade included nearly 1,100 participants and more than a 100 units of military equipment. In addition to the Estonian forces, Estonia's NATO allies and other partners including Finland, France, Georgia, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Sweden, Ukraine, Britain, Denmark, and the United States were also present.

In addition, the Commandant of BALTDEFCOL, Major General Andis Dilāns (LVA) and Deputy Commandant / Chief of Staff, Colonel Jean Trudel (CAN) took part in the wreath laying ceremony at the Memorial to the War of Independence and attended the reception of the Chief of Defence of Estonia, General Riho Terras.
