Baltic Defence College’s gift to Tartu Emajõe School

On 10th December 2015, representatives of the Baltic Defence College and BaltGirls donated musical instruments to Tartu Emajõe School where visually impaired children from all over the Estonia are studying. “Tartu Emajõe School, as the only state school for the blind and visually impaired in Estonia, has declared its mission considering this special position. According to the mission Tartu Emajõe School cares for all visually impaired children in Estonia and works for the improvement of their educational opportunities.”

This year for the third time, Baltic Defence College conducted fund-raising for charitable purposes during college’s international night, with the initiative and lead of BaltGirls - the college’s spouses’ organisation, all the guests, students and faculty made donations to support children with visual impairment. With the help of participants and guests, 1001 euros was raised. The presenting event was led by Mrs Irena Vaikšnorienė, the chairlady of BaltGirls and attended by several members of BaltGirls, staff members and students.

As it is highly important for the Baltic Defence College’s team to give back to the local community, the college continues its tradition of giving charitable gifts to local institutions and organisations dealing with children in need. Last year, fund-raising was undertaken to support the rehabilitation of children after cancer treatment.
