Baltic Defence College’s Third Annual Cyber Security Conference
Today, on 12th November 2015, starts the Baltic Defence College’s Third Annual Cyber Security Conference in Hotel Artis Conference centre, Vilnius, Lithuania. The Conference aims to explore the doctrinal and operational aspects of deploying ‘cyber’ into the full range of military operations and the implications thereof on operational decision-making and military planning with particular emphasis on the implications these developments impose on military thought and officer and senior civil servant education.
The conference will last one and a half days, with the first day focusing on sharing the experiences in teaching the cyber domain to military officers, integrating it in actual military operations and the potential for cooperation with the civilian universities in this field. The second day will accommodate a workshop in which actual proposals for methodologies and best practice standards will be discussed.
By bringing together experts with political, operational and military educational backgrounds, the 2015 Conference invites an exchange of ideas on how best to teach and learn issues related to the cyber domain and how best to integrate these issues into operational planning. It will offer an exchange of best practice standards and an invitation to develop a robust methodology and standards in the area.
