Baltic Defence College Supports Ukrainian Children Through Charitable Contribution

In March 2025, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) once again demonstrated its unwavering solidarity and compassion through a remarkable charitable initiative led by the college's spouse club, Baltspouses.

During the BALTDEFCOL International Night held on 27 March 2024, Baltspouses raised 2,525 EUR through a lively and heartfelt fundraising raffle. This vibrant evening united the BALTDEFCOL community and their families in celebrating diverse cultures, cuisines, and traditions. The International Night has long stood as a cultural highlight and a meaningful platform for giving back.

This year, the funds were allocated to support the Charitable Foundation "Tabletochki", a Ukrainian organization that, since 2011, has provided vital assistance to families battling childhood cancer and empowered medical professionals to save young lives.

Most notably, on April 7, 2025, Baltspouses and the BALTDEFCOL Commandant, Brigadier General Alvydas Šiuparis, officially handed the cheque for 2,525 EUR to the college’s Ukrainian community. This symbolic and generous donation also included additional contributions received following the International Night event, underscoring the ongoing commitment of the BALTDEFCOL community.

More than a financial gift, this act is a profound gesture of empathy and unity with Ukrainian children and their families. It reflects the core values that BALTDEFCOL holds dear: compassion, resilience, and a collective stand in times of hardship.

This initiative continues a longstanding tradition at the College, where charitable endeavours are thoughtfully woven into major community events. The unwavering dedication of Baltspouses and the enthusiastic participation of the BALTDEFCOL family illustrate the community’s enduring resolve to make a lasting, positive impact beyond its educational mission.
