From 2nd to 4th of October 2019, participants of the Central European Forum on Military Education (CEFME) Conference gathered in Tartu, Estonia to exchange views and experiences in education and research and to enhance and extend cooperation networks. This year, the annual conference was hosted by the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL).
Founded in 2007, CEFME provides a highly valuable platform for discussing regional developments and education matters for professional military education (PME) institutions in central European region and further. In addition to BALTDEFCOL representatives, the 2019 Conference was attended by delegations from Austrian National Defence Academy, Slovenian Armed Forces Military Schools Centre, Croatian Defence Academy "Dr Franjo Tuđman", Polish War Studies University, University of Defence in Belgrade, Slovak Armed Forces Academy of General Milan Rastislav Štefánik, Estonian Military Academy and NATO’s International Staff.
During the Conference, CEFME members extended awareness of each other activities by delivering briefings with the focus on current developments and security related education. In addition, the discussions also concentrated on the future of CEFME as a voluntary association of PME institutions.
