Biography
Col. Rajevs is the current Director of the Higher Command Studies Course. Prior to becoming the Course Director, he was Director of Support at the Baltic Defence College. He holds an M.Sc. in Engineering from Moscow Military Academy (1987) and is also a graduate of the United States Command and General Staff College (1996) and the Baltic Defence College's Higher Command Studies Course (2008). He has had a long a varied military career, including:
- 1987-1990 – Mechanised Infantry Platoon Leader
- 1990-1992 – Mechanised Infantry Company Commander
- 1992-1996 – Battalion Executive Officer
- 1996-2000 – Commanding Officer, Airborne Reconnaissance Battalion
- 2000-2001 – Section Chief, Operations Department, Joint Headquarters
- 2001-2003 – Chief of Plans and Policy Department, Joint Headquarters
- 2004 – Commander, Latvian Contingent (Iraq)
- 2004-2007 – Infantry Brigade Commander
- 2007-2009 – Commander, Land Forces of Latvian National Armed Forces
- 2009-2010 – Commander, Training and Doctrine Command
