Commandant's visit to NATO Joint Warfare Centre in Stavanger, Norway

From the 3rd to 4th April 2017 the BALTDEFCOL delegation led by the Commandant of Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) MG Andis Dilāns visited the NATO Joint Warfare Centre (JWC) in Stavanger, Norway. The BALTDEFCOL Commandant discussed with the Commander of JWC MG Andrzej Reudowicz (Polish Army) the possible cooperation between the institutions, especially in the area of conducting military exercises and exchanging of expertise.

The BALTDEFCOL team was introduced to tasks and structure of JWC and training challenges in the changing security environment by the DCOM/CoS JWC RADM John Brad Skillman (US Navy) and the Special Adviser to the Commander of JWC CDRE Hans Christian Helseth (Royal Norwegian Navy). The delegation had also an opportunity to observe the second iteration for Exercise TRIDENT JAGUAR 2017 and to get an insight from the Commander of 1 German/Netherlands Corps (1GNC) LTG Michiel van der Laan (Netherlands Army) about the development of 1GNC while being trained, evaluated and certified in a Joint Task Force Headquarters during the Non-Article 5 Command Post Exercise.
