Commandant’s working visit to Latvia
Today, on 10th November 2015 the Commandant of the Baltic Defence College Major General Vitalijus Vaikšnoras conducted a working visit to Latvia. Today’s visit was a continuation of similar working visits paid to the Republics of Estonia and Lithuania – BALTDEFCOL three ‘owner’ nations. The schedule of the visit to Latvia included meetings with the leadership of the Ministry of Defence and the leadership of Latvian National Armed Forces.
Both the meeting with Minister of Defence, Mr Raimonds Bergmanis and the meeting with Lieutenant General Raimonds Graube can be considered very important for the continuing development of the Baltic Defence College. MG Vaikšnoras gave a detailed overview on current status of BALTDEFCOL, briefed the leadership on the college’s main lines of effort for the academic year 2015/2016 as well as our development plan for the future.
During the meetings held today, both Minister of Defence as well as Chief of Defence expressed their appreciation for the work well done and emphasised that the management of BALTDEFCOL can rely on full support in their efforts to ensure continuous development of the college.
