Commanding General US Army Security Assistance Command expresses firm will for continued participation in BALTDEFCOL
During his information visit on 31.10.2016 Major General Stephen E. Farmen, Commanding General US Army Security Assistance Command (USASAC) expressed the firm will to continue US participation in BALTDEFCOL. The Commandant of BALTDEFCOL, Major General Andis Dilāns, welcomed the high ranking visitor who was accompanied by Colonel William M. Krahling, USASAC Director, EUCOM/AFRICOM and the ADC, Captain Christopher L. Fields.
In an office call together with US Army Colonel Mark Hollis, BALTDEFCOL´s Director of the Joint Command and General Staff Course and DEU Colonel Axel Pfaffenroth, Deputy Commandant and Chief of Staff issues of security and defence developments in the region and the implementation of decisions after NATO´s Warsaw Summit were discussed. In a following briefing session, in which BALTDEFCOL´s US Army lecturer, Lieutenant Colonel Jose Vasquez participated as well, Major General Farmen and his delegation were informed about the vision, mission, structure, personnel, educational program and research activities of the college.
The final discussion dealt primarily with specific issues of continued US personnel participation, exercise cooperation and US participation in BALTDEFCOL´s upcoming high level Senior Leaders´ Course and next year´s conferences. Upon farewell, Major General Farmen thanked for a most informative visit and announced to spread information on the important and high quality education at BALTDEFCOL through his US Army channels back home in US.
