On 3rd March 2022, prior to the annual Conference on Russia, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) organised a Distinguished Visitor´s Day (DVD). The Ambassadors, Counsellors, Defence Attachés of allied, and partner nations were invited to visit the College and many of them for the first time. As BALTDEFCOL is an internationally staffed Professional Military Education institution and regional hub of knowledge and research, it has been important to introduce its activities to representatives of respective nations.
The distinguished visitors were welcomed by the Commandant, Brigadier General Ilmar Tamm, members of the College Management Group, and Senior National Representatives.
The visit started with the briefing session to deliver a College overview, which gave a synopsis of mission, vision, tasks, core activities, academic events, research, and future developments.
The visit continued with the Annual Conference on Russia "Russia –A Restless Embrace of the Past?”, which is an integral part of the college educational activities.
The Distinguished Visitor´s Day is the traditional event of BALTDEFCOL, which is very appreciated, especially by all the new diplomatic personnel. The last DVD took place in 2020.
