Exercise Joint Resolve 2024 Post-Exercise Discussion & Joint Resolve 2025 Initial Planning Conference

From 10-11 September, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) hosted  Exercise Joint Resolve 2024 (JR24) Post Exercise Discussion & Joint Resolve 2025 (JR25) Initial Planning Conference.

As we close out a successful JR24 exercise cycle, it was time to reflect on the outcomes and begin planning for the year ahead with our partners from the Polish War Studies University (WSU) and the Finnish National Defence University (FNDU). The Post-Exercise Discussion provided a critical opportunity for all participants to review performance, identify challenges, and pinpoint areas for improvement. During this phase, thorough After Action Reviews (AARs) were conducted, analysing individual and collective performance. Feedback from participants, combined with data-driven metrics, helps to identify lessons learned and set actionable priorities to enhance future operations.

This review is not just about identifying weaknesses; it’s about recognizing successes and leveraging them to build a stronger framework for the future. The Post-Exercise Discussion ensures that no stone is left unturned and that the insights gained from the JR24 exercise are captured, documented, and integrated into upcoming initiatives.

The next exercise phase has begun with the JR25 Initial Planning Conference (IPC). This meeting set the stage for the next major exercise, focusing on developing objectives, refining scenarios, and ensuring cross-organizational coordination. The IPC is the foundation for our future success, bringing together key stakeholders to align on strategic goals, logistical needs, and timelines. By building on the lessons of JR24 and planning with precision for JR25, we continue to enhance preparedness, coordination, and operational effectiveness.

Stay tuned for more updates as we progress through the planning stages and continue our commitment to readiness and resilience.
