Graduation Ceremony of HCSC 2011
On 16 December 2011, the BALTDEFCOL (Baltic Defence College) graduated students from the Higher Command Studies Course 2011. The course was graduated by 14 students representing Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Georgia, Moldova, United Kingdom, Poland and Ukraine.
The Graduation Ceremony, held in the Tartu University History Museum, was honoured with the presence of representatives from the three Baltic States Ministries of Defence and Defence Forces Headquarters as well as other honorable guests who came to congratulate the graduates on this special occasion. Graduation speeches were given by BALTDEFCOL Commandant BG Meelis Kiili, first Commandant of the College BG Michel Clemmesen, Estonian Chief of Defence BG Riho Terras, Lithuanian Vice Minister of National Defence Mr. Vytautas Umbrasas, Latvian MOD Executive Secretary for development of military capabilities BG Gundars Ābols.
The award for the best written paper was given to student from UK, LTC John-Edward Mead Carey-Hughes.
