High-ranking Baltic military officials lecture the Higher Command Studies Course

On 13-15 April three distinguished guests from Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania visited BALTDEFCOL and addressed the officers and civilians of the Higher Command Studies Course (HCSC) 2015.

The Chief of Defence of Estonia Lieutenant General Riho Terras, the Chief of Staff of the Joint Headquarters of the Latvian Armed Forces Major General Juris Zeibarts and Director General for Capabilities and Armaments of the Lithuanian Ministry of National Defence Colonel Darius Užkuraitis shared their views on their respective nations defence developments.

The lectures were part of an HCSC educational module: Defence Policy and Planning. They were aimed at introducing students to the current major defence policy and planning issues facing Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The lectures were followed by lively sessions of questions and answers with the students of the HCSC.

The HCSC students will continue their study of the defence systems of the Baltic nations during the latter stages of the course, including during study trips to the three capitals.
