HRH the Prince of Orange and HRH Princess Maxima of the Netherlands visited BDCOL

His Royal Highness the Prince of Orange and Her Royal Highness Princess Maxima of the Netherlands visited the Baltic Defence College on Tuesday 18 June 2002 during their official visit to Estonia.

The royal guests were welcomed by the Commandant, Brigadier General Michael Clemmesen and, in a short tour of the college, were shown the Admiral deRuyter classroom, the Tactical Trainer and the new classroom facilities on the 4th floor. Lieutenant Colonel Andrew Parrott gave a short briefing about the college in the von Sydow Hall after which students from the college took part in an interesting and wide- ranging discussion period with the Prince and Princess.

The royal visitors travelled on to Lithuania and Latvia after leaving Estonia and the Baltic Defence College was the only military institution they visited in the course of their official engagements in the Baltic countries.
