On 27 March 2025, the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) proudly hosted its annual International Night, bringing together students, staff, family members, and guests for an unforgettable evening of cultural celebration. This year, 17 nations were represented, each contributing to the vibrant mosaic of traditions, flavours, and customs that define the BALTDEFCOL community.
The College was transformed into a lively hub of international spirit, with national food and beverage stands, traditional attire, and cultural displays creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Participants and guests had the opportunity to experience the rich variety of customs and tastes from across Europe and beyond, highlighting the College’s diverse and genuinely multinational character.
Adding to the festive spirit, the evening featured captivating performances by the Estonian folk music and dance band Maatasa, the Latvian National Armed Forces Army Orchestra’s Variety Ensemble, and the vibrant BIG BEND (Dixieland team) of the National Defence Volunteer Forces, Lithuanian Armed Forces. Their performances showcased the Baltic nations' rich cultural heritage and artistic talents, delighting the audience and making the event truly memorable.
The charity raffle organized by the Baltspouses Club was a significant evening highlight. The generosity of the participants made a remarkable impact, raising a total of 2,525 Euros. The proceeds will go directly to the Tabletochki Charity Foundation, a Ukrainian organization that supports children battling cancer (tabletochki.org). This solidarity gave the evening an even deeper purpose, showing how the BALTDEFCOL community can make a real and lasting difference beyond its borders.
International Night 2025 was more than just a joyful celebration — it was a powerful expression of friendship, generosity, and the strong bonds the BALTDEFCOL family shares.
