On 9th of February, Baltic Defence College’s (BALTDEFCOL) staff and students together with their family members and guests celebrated “International Night” already for the 13th time. The event offers a wonderful opportunity to come together, enjoy the food and beverages and experience the culture and customs of various nations represented at the College. Altogether 18 nations including Albania, Canada, Slovakia, Slovenia, France, Georgia, Moldova, Poland, Germany, Ukraine, USA, Sweden, Norway, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland and Hungary participated in the event.
The event was opened by the Commandant, Major General Andis Dilans who welcomed everyone to an evening full of culture, traditions and national peculiarities. MG Dilans brought out that by 20 nations at the College, a good percentage of the world countries is represented here.
Throughout the event, the guests enjoyed delicious national buffets and joyful performances by Estonian and Latvian folk dancing groups and Lithuanian musician.
One of the BALTDEFCOL´s traditions of conducting fund-raising for charitable purposes was also continued this year with the initiative and lead of BALTSPOUSES. During the event the participants made generous donations in order to support the Association of Disable Children, Youth and their Parents.
In addition to BALTDEFCOL’s students and staff, the event was honoured by Ambassadors, Defence Attaches and Commanders of NFIUs.
