International Night in the Baltics
International Night in the Baltics – begun as ‘Baltic Night’ in 2005 – was celebrated for the tenth time on 7th November. The night was open for college staff members, students and their families, as well as for the high level guests.
The Commandant, Major General Vitalijus Vaikšnoras, emphasised in his welcome greetings that International Night in the Baltics is held to introduce the culture and traditions of the participating nations and through that strengthen personal relations inside the college and with our active partners. BALTDEFCOL event was honoured by the US, Lithuanian ambassadors and participating nations diplomatic core members accredited in Tallinn and Riga. Guests were provided with an opportunity to get acquainted with the culture and national traditions of the Baltics states and all participating nations.
One of the college’s traditions of conducting fund-raising for charitable purposes was also continued this year with the initiative and lead of BALTGIRLS. The guest and participants of the evening made donations to support the rehabilitation of children after cancer treatment. With the help of participants €852 was raised and that provides two bicycles for the children who are fighting cancer.
