On December 7, the family of the Baltic Defence College (BALTDEFCOL) gathered for the last Staff Meeting in 2023. The meeting was conducted and led by the Commandant of the BALTDEFCOL, Brigadier General Alvydas Šiuparis, to review the progress over the past months and outline the goals for the upcoming months. During the meeting, several staff members were awarded for their merit.
Dr Sandis Šrāders received THE BALTIC DEFENCE COLLEGE ACADEMIC WRITING AWARD for the Proceedings of the Conference on Russia as editor-in-chief and contribution to College research and education. He was also rewarded for working relentlessly to increase the level of quality and visibility throughout the region and beyond of the Annual Conference on Russia as the Director for two years.
Mr George Spencer Terry received THE BALTIC DEFENCE COLLEGE ACADEMIC WRITING AWARD for the article, co-editing the Conference on Russia Proceedings and contributing to research and education.

Dr Viljar Veebel received THE BALTIC DEFENCE COLLEGE ACADEMIC WRITING AWARD for an article published in a highly recognized academic journal and for his contribution to College research and education. Dr Veebel was absent from the award ceremony due to duty travel and will be awarded later in person.
Commander Ain Pärna was awarded for outstanding preparation and execution of the Joint Command and General Staff Course 2022-2023 elective and superb contribution to the Combined Joint Staff Exercise Joint Resolve 2023 and dedication to the Department of Military Studies and the Baltic Defence College.
