The Lithuanian contingent at the Baltic Defence College has, already second time in a row, organised a charity sport’s event called “In Memoriam – Charity Run” in Tartu.
The “In Memoriam” sport’s event itself will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania on the 11th of November and is organized by Lithuanian Grand Duchess Birutė Officers’ Families Women Association. The charity event is dedicated to commemorate and honour all Lithuanian soldiers who have died during this year and share some charity with their families. This year, 12 passed-away soldiers and officers will be remembered.
The participants of “In Memoriam – Charity Run” in Tartu were encouraged to remember their fallen friends and colleagues despite a country or religion and commemorate their fellowship. The event gathered around 50 volunteers, mostly College staff, Faculty members, students of JCGSC, CSC and some of the Estonian-Lithuanian community conveners and their families with spouses and children.
After crossing the finish line everybody had an opportunity to have a cup of tea or coffee to warm up and share their thoughts and impressions with each other. All collected money will be directly donated to the Association on the 11th of November during the main event in Vilnius.
